The Ondo State Police Command has detained a man named Yusuf Adenoyin for being in possession of eight human skulls in Isua, which is the headquarters of the Akoko South-East Local Government Area. The arrest was made by police personnel attached to the Police Safer Highway Patrol at the Isua/Epinmi checkpoint. On June 10, 2024, at around 8:00 am, the police flagged down a Nissan Salon car en route to Akure during a routine search.
One of the passengers attempted to flee but was apprehended by the police. The suspect, Yusuf Adenoyin, had his belongings searched and eight dry human skulls, fresh human flesh, and charms were discovered in a wrapped polythene bag that was concealed in a Garri sack he was carrying. Adenoyin, who is 31 years old, confessed that he had already supplied seven human skulls prior to his arrest and that he was planning to deliver these items to herbalists.
The investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend any other individuals involved in this illegal. In addition to this arrest, the Ondo State Police Command has also apprehended Uche Onu, Ekene Okorie, and Celestine Eze for their involvement in robbery activities in Akure, the state.
Francis Okafor is currently in custody at SCID, Benin City in connection with another armed robbery case, and efforts are underway to apprehend Ezeego, who is still at large.
The Ondo State Police Command has stated that the three suspects will be charged in court at the conclusion of the investigation.
