In light of the ongoing political turmoil, Rivers State Governor Sir Siminialayi Fubara has expressed sadness that the PDP has let the people of the State down. Fubara said the state is currently relying on what it can do based on truth instead of party politics.

On Wednesday, the governor gave a speech at Government House in Port Harcourt to a group of senators from the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialization, which was chaired by senator Orji Uzo Kalu. Party allegiance will no longer be a barrier to the state, according to Fubara, who declared that it would instead stand strong on its own territory to protect democracy.
