Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has launched the 2024 Jos Christmas Family Festival, promising to make this year’s holiday season exceptional and appealing to prospective tourists who want to visit the state throughout the season. The governor, who offered the guarantee during the festival’s formal unveiling in Jos, Plateau State, said preparations are underway to ensure a smooth event, and that the government is doing everything possible to maintain the state’s current peace. The state has many beautiful places to visit and weather that is different from other parts of the country. That’s why we’re starting to get ready early—it will be full-swing by November,” he said. Bikers, hikers, and people who just want to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the state can take part in the festival’s activities, such as the Christmas Carol, the lighting of the PRTVC Christmas Tree, and other events. Governor Caleb, who was represented by the State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Mr. Musa Ashom, stated that the festival with the theme “A Beautiful Experience” will undoubtedly be memorable, and that the state government has provided surveillance security drones covering three kilometres to strengthen the state’s security infrastructure. In a welcome message, Mr. Chuwang Pwajok, General Manager of Plateau State Tourism Corporation, stated that the unveiling ceremony was also intended to demonstrate the government’s preparedness and what to expect at the festival.

Pwajok said the state is blessed and highly endowed in terms of rich culture and other beautiful and alluringly attractive sites that could be visited by tourists, adding those intending to visit Plateau during the season will have a memorable experience.

“Christmas festivals provide us an opportunity as people and community to engage with one another and to display our hospitality and peaceful disposition towards the people around us and further project the state as a home of peace and tourism.

That being said, what we are doing here today is inviting all of the most important stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality sector and stating to them that the state is prepared to compete, project, and market itself as a major Christmas holiday destination as far as Nigeria is concerned. The general manager proceeds. The goal is to build the month of December into a holiday month in Plateau State so that our friends, loved ones, and associations would find a location to come and spend their particular holiday in the state.
