Kano Anti-Graft Agency Asserts Ganduje’s Prosecution Will Proceed.

The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Rimingado, has reiterated his determination to continue with the case against former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Monday, Rimingado confirmed that the prosecution is ongoing.

In response to a question about whether the case would proceed despite his recent arrest, Rimingado said, “Yes, we are prosecuting him directly.” He disclosed that the investigation began in 2021 but faced setbacks during his tenure. “I was removed from my position and subjected to various challenges, including arrest, detention, and humiliation. However, upon my return, I resumed the investigation from where I stopped. This is not a personal vendetta,” he clarified.

The Kano State High Court has scheduled the hearing of preliminary objections in the case for February 13, 2025. The case, filed by the Kano State Government, includes eight charges of alleged bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds amounting to billions of naira. Other defendants in the case include Hafsat Umar (Ganduje’s wife), Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited
