Portugal won the game 3-0 and secured their spot in the round of 16 thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, and Samet Akaydin, as well as a sensational own goal. But several pitch invaders interfered during the match.
A small youngster ran onto the pitch to take a selfie with Ronaldo, and that’s how it all began. About fifteen minutes after the initial incident, a second fan ran onto the pitch and headed straight for Ronaldo. Additionally, he tried to snap a selfie with the forward, but Ronaldo declined, and security took the fan away. Before the game was ended, two additional fans went onto the field, and once it was over, a fifth person sprinted towards Ronaldo’s direction.

Morgan also expressed his worries about the frequent security lapses on social media, writing: “Stupid. Better player protection is required, or worse things will occur.”
The game’s top scorer, Bernardo, downplayed worries about the pitch invasions, stating he felt completely safe. It’s not a major issue. The Manchester City player commented following the match, “It’s just a little bothersome that we have to pause the game every time a fan approaches the pitch.
“But I believe that’s the cost of having a player like Ronaldo with us and being so well-known in the football world. However, in terms of feeling threatened, I don’t believe so. Not me specifically, however.”
However, Portugal’s manager Roberto Martinez said that he was concerned for his players’ safety. It was cause for anxiety. Because the supporters’ good intentions were fortunate for us today,” he told reporters.

“You can see that it was a trying time; if those intentions aren’t correct, the players could be in danger. We ought to convey to the supporters that this isn’t the proper approach. It won’t benefit you in any way, and the only thing that will happen is that the security measures will tighten.”
Portugal’s next game is scheduled for Wednesday in Schalke against Georgia in their final group stage meeting. On July 1, they will travel to Frankfurt for their last 16 contest.
